World Physiotherapy Day Celebrations at Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Sept.11(TTT) The University School of Allied Health Sciences celebrated the World Physiotherapy Day having theme of 2024 as- “Low Back Pain (LBP)”. The Chief Guest, Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura emphasized the importance of physiotherapy, highlighting its critical role in healthcare and discussed the vast scope of allied health professions both in India and abroad, inspiring the audience with his insightful words.
On this occasion Dr. Parvinder Kaur, Pro- Vice Chancellor, LTSU highlighted the importance of physical and mental fitness for better well-being of humankind. She emphasised on the upcoming opportunities in the Physiotherapists. Dr. Rajiv Mahajan, Registrar, LTSU and Dr. J.S. Arora, Executive Dean & Dean Academic Affairs, LTSU emphasized the importance of regular physical exercise and disciplined life of the students. Prof. (Dr.) Shyamal Koley, Dean, USAHS, enlightened on coming together to celebrate the incredible work that physiotherapists do across the globe. He mentioned that this profession is not just about rehabilitation—it’s about enabling people to live healthier, more active lives. Through evidence-based care, people recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions and improve mobility, independence and overall well-being. Physiotherapists stand at the forefront of healthcare, bridging the gap between medicine and movement. Students participated in the event including short talk, poster making, cultural activities such as poetry, songs, dances and mimicry etc. The event coordinated with precision and enthusiasm, highlighted the importance of physiotherapy in healthcare. Experts shared insights on innovative practices, while interactive sessions engaged attendees in hands-on learning experiences. The day concluded with a vibrant celebration, reinforcing the vital role physiotherapy plays in enhancing quality of life.The Celebration was graced by distinguished guests, including faculty members, healthcare professionals and students. Senior officials of the university including Dr. Parvinder Kaur, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Dr. Rajiv Mahajan, Registrar, Dr. J.S.Arora, ED, Prof. Satyal, Deans, Directors and HoDs were present at the occasion, contributing to the event’s success. The faculty including Dr. Shivangi Sharma, Ms. Nahida Bilal, Ms. Mitali Kar and Ms. Fahmia Feroz, delivered the talk on low back pain focusing on various aspects of prevention, treatment and the role of physiotherapy in managing the condition.
