Punjab State Legal Services Authority organizes free legal aid seminar at village Thinda

Hoshiarpur/ Sept. 24/Daljeet Ajnoha (TTT) As per the directions of District Legal Services Authority and under the leadership of Hon’ble District and Sessions Judge Dilbag Singh Johal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Raj Pal Rwal organized a free legal aid seminar at village Thinds, Kot Fatuhi Garhshankar.

On this occasion, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rwal made the villagers aware about free legal services. He informed that free legal aid is provided to eligible persons of various categories by the Supreme Court, Punjab and Haryana Legal Services Committee and District Legal Services Authority. Persons whose annual income is less than Rs. 3 lakh, Scheduled Caste, women, undertrials, children, old, handicapped or mentally challenged persons, all can get assistance under this scheme. Apart from this, any person can get legal advice.

He informed that the District Legal Services Authority also provided information about the schemes run under the District Social Welfare Department. These include old age pension scheme, financial assistance scheme for widows and dependent women, financial assistance scheme for children and disabled persons, and schemes of National Social Assistance Program.

Apart from this, a plantation drive was also organized in Government Primary School, Thinda under the chairmanship of Secretary District Legal Services Authority. Many saplings were planted on this occasion. Raj Pal Rwal said on this occasion that trees are precious gifts of nature, which are not only the source of life but also play an important role in environmental protection. He called upon everyone to plant trees in and around their homes.
