Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha / 5 Oct.(TTT) SSP Hoshiarpur Surender Lamba while talking to senior journalist Daljeet Ajnoha on various issues said that the Punjab government is very serious about drug abuse due to which senior police officers are conducting various search operations from time to time to stop drug abuse in the entire Punjab and legal action is being taken against those who sell drugs after identifying them. And for those who have become addicted to drugs due to some reason and want to quit drugs, the government has arranged for de-addiction centers and he also told that last month the police have registered 38 cases of drug abuse and 54 people involved in these cases have been arrested and legal action has been taken against them. He said that as per the decision taken by the government, those who have made any kind of property by selling drugs are thoroughly investigated and action is taken to confiscate the property of the person found guilty. Hoshiarpur police has also taken such action after thorough investigation in some cases, in which in some cases the confiscated property can also be auctioned in future. He said that with the help of civil administration, they are also making people aware about not burning stubble by setting up camps in the villages of the district. He said that in every awareness campaign by the police, the common people are told that if any person comes to know about any drug seller, then he can inform the police about him without any fear. The identity of the informer will be kept completely confidential by the police. SSP Said that Civil and police administration is fully prepared to conduct the Panchayat election in a peaceful environment
