LTSU Punjab Celebrates Engineer’s Day

The University School of Engineering and Technology, Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU) Punjab, celebrated Engineer’s Day with great enthusiasm, bringing together esteemed guests, keynote speakers, and industry experts from renowned organizations such as Wipro and Tata. The event was a resounding success, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting excellence in engineering and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
The program commenced with the arrival of distinguished guests at the University School of Engineering and Technology. The floral welcome extended by the students,.The event formally began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
“Importance of Engineers’ Day” by students, emphasizing the crucial role of engineers in shaping the future and contributing to societal and national progress.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura, Chancellor of LTSU Punjab, shared his words of wisdom and blessings with the students in a thought-provoking address. He commended their efforts in organizing a memorable event and spoke about the global significance of Engineers’ Day in recognizing the vital contributions of engineers across industries. “This Engineer’s Day celebration serves as a platform to recognize the outstanding contributions of engineers and inspire the next generation of innovators,” remarked Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura, Chancellor of LTSU Punjab.Students enthusiastically showcased their Projects, Prototype Presentations, discussed their innovative ideas under Ideathon, that were well-received by the dignitaries. A debate competition was also witnessed by the esteemed guests.
The event also featured keynote addresses from two prominent industry experts. Mr. Gaurav Kaushal, Corporate Head of the Airbus Program at Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), delivered a keynote on “Navigating Industry 4.0: Skills for Future Engineers.” He emphasized the importance of preparing young engineers for the technological advancements and innovations driving Industry 4.0. Ms. Mohita Chandiramani, Senior Analyst and Program Manager for Apple Maps at Wipro, spoke on “Industry-Ready Skills for Future Engineers.” Her address provided invaluable insights into current industry trends and highlighted the evolving skillsets required to succeed in today’s competitive global job market.
Following the keynote speeches, an open house Q&A session provided students with the opportunity to engage directly with the experts. They posed questions related to internships, mentorship, skills development, LTSU’s Centre of Excellence, and industry collaborations. The interactive discussion offered students clarity on industry expectations and how to align their education with real-world needs.
In recognition of their efforts, certificates were distributed to students who won role in the technical events that were part of the Engineer’s Day celebration. Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Dr. Rajiv Mahajan (Registrar), Dr. Joginder Singh Arora (Executive Dean), Dr. H P S Dhami (Dean, USET), Dr. V.K. Saini (Deputy Dean, USET), along with Deans, Directors, faculty members, and students from various schools. The event closed on a patriotic note with the rendition of the National Anthem. The celebration underscored LTSU’s dedication to producing industry-ready engineers through its innovative teaching models, a focus on project-based learning, and robust industry-academia partnerships.
