Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Anoha /Oct 5(TTT) During a special conversation with Deputy Commissioner Madam Komal Mittal on various questions by senior journalist Daljeet Anoha, Deputy Commissioner Madam Komal Mittal said that the Drug Free Punjab campaign is being run under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister, under which an enforcement wing has been created by Hoshiarpur Police and under the NDPS Act, about 100 FIRs are being registered in a month
and arrests are also being made. She said that till now the police has controlled drug abuse to a great extent. She said that to completely eradicate drug abuse, the cooperation of the common people is also very important. She said that Committees have been formed in villages as well and volunteers have also been made who go to schools, colleges or other places and make people aware to avoid drugs and he said that the working style of these people is monitored by DSP and SDM and feedback is taken and after that legal action is taken against whoever sells drugs. He said that parents, society and also those people who are their Neighbours and friends should take care of people between the age of 15 to 25 years because at this age children or youth go astray. He appealed to the farmers not to burn stubble and said that last year also the cases of burning stubble in Hoshiarpur were very less and this time also they will not happen, he has faith in the farmers of Hoshiarpur and he talked about the Panchayat elections to be held on 15th October that the Hoshiarpur administration. All arrangements have been completed and duties of all officers have been assigned, who has to go where has been told and the civil and police administration is fully prepared to conduct the Panchayat elections in a peaceful environment.
