An Awareness Workshop on Drug Abuse and its Treatment, under Drugs-Free Campaign was organized at Punjab Agricultural Export Corporation Limited, Jahan Khelan, Hoshiarpur.(TTT) Treatment of Drug Abuse is provided free of cost by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Punjab- D.D.R.C. Hoshiarpur, As per the orders of Smt. Komal Mittal, I.A.S., Deputy Commissioner- Chairperson, District Drug De-addiction Rehabilitation Society, Hoshiarpur and under the leadership of Dr. Harbans Kaur, D.M.C. Hoshiarpur an Awareness Workshop on the Ill Effects of Drug Abuse and its Treatment was organized at Punjab Agricultural Export Corporation Limited (A Punjab Govt. Undertaking) Jahan Khelan Hoshiarpur in the presence of Baljinder Singh Plant Head. In which Nisha Rani Manager, Parshant Aadiya Counselor, Sandeep Pal Staff from District Drug De-addiction & Rehabilitation Center, Hoshiarpur were present as Keynote Speakers.
On this occasion, Manager Nisha Rani gave detailed information about the short and long term effects of Drug Abuse. In his address, Parshant Adiya said that youth power is the foundation of any nation and contributes significantly to the development of the society and the country. Therefore, it is very important that the youth join the Drug-Free India Campaign in large numbers and accept this challenge and pledge under the Drug-Free India Campaign that ‘I will lead a Drug-Free Life’. For this, we all should work together to make our District, State and Country Drugs-Free. He said that according to the World Health Organization, Drug Abuse is a recurring, long-lasting mental illness which is treated free of cost by the Health Department, Punjab. A drug addict is astray, rather than hating him or making fun of him , he should be brought to the right path through love and care.
