PAU-KVK Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized in-service training on nutritional recipes for young children and pregnant/ lactating women
SBS NAGAR/DALjEET AJNOHA /AUGUST 8(TTT) Under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University and ICAR-ATARI, Zone-1, Ludhiana, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized a one day In-service training course on Nutritional recipes for young children and pregnant/ lactating women recently at KVK campus. During this programme 27 Anganwadi workers and supervisors participated.
During this camp, Assisitant Professor (Home Science) from KVK Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Dr. Rajinder Kaur, discussed about the importance of preparation of nutritious recipes for children and pregnant/ lactating women for healthy lifestyle. She also explained the appropriate proportion of nutrient intake during pregnancy and advantages of nutritious food intake in combination. Along with this, she explained the role of Moringa leaves (Sohanja), which has medicinal properties for good gut health. During this programme recipes like sonth laddu, sattu parantha and soybean-wheat nutritious laddu, were also shared with workers, which are rich in iron and folic acid and which prepare the mother for healthy pregnancy and for are good for lactating women.
In the end of programme, Demonstrator (Home Science), Mrs. Renu Bala thanked the staff of Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development for their support in organizing this training camp successfully.
