A Cricket Tournament was organized under ‘Mission Nischay at Gurdaspur

Amidst the ongoing war against drugs waged on the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Punjab, Sh. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh and under the guidance of Sh. Rakesh Kaushal, IPS, DIG, Border Range, Amritsar, a Cricket Tournament was organized by Sh. Dayama Harish Kumar, IPS, SSP/Gurdaspur at Police Lines, Gurdaspur under ‘Mission Nischay’ on 22.07.2024 with the help of Village Defence Committees with a motive to aware the public/youngsters against the ill facts of the drugs. The Cricket Teams were rewarded with certificates and trophies so that young generation can be attracted towards the sports and to be kept away from the drugs. After the Cricket Tournament a meeting was also held with the members of the Village Defence Committees and they were encouraged to give every reliable information about the drug smugglers/peddlers to the police so that prompt action can be taken against the culprits. During the program a slogan ‘Say no to Drug, Say yes to Punjab was given by SSP/Gurdaspur.
Similar kind of programs have also been organized in other districts of Border Range including 10 KM cycle rally Cyclothon-2024 held in district Pathankot on 12.06.2024.
A Hockey Tournament was held at Sports Stadium Baba Bakala Amritsar Rural on 10.07.2024. Another Hockey Tournament was also organized at Village Pakharpura on 10.07.2024. A football Tournament was held at Village Bandala on 10.07.2024. Volleyball Tournaments were organized at Dussehra Ground Ajnala and Village Bhullar on 10.07.2024.
Rakesh Kaushal, IPS, DIG, Border Range, Amritsar told that SSPs of the Border Range districts i.e. Amritsar-Rural, Batala, Gurdaspur and Pathankot have been directed to organize such kind of Tournaments in future too so that young generation can be motivated towards sports activities.
