District Legal Services Authority successfully organised the third National Lok Adalat of the year,13,757 cases settled on the spot in National Lok Adalat
(TTT) Hoshiarpur Sept.15, District Legal Services Authority Hoshiarpur today organised the third National Lok Adalat of the year in the district under the guidelines of Punjab State Legal Services Authority SAS Nagar. Various types of cases including NI Act cases under section 138 (pending and pre-litigation bank recovery cases), labour disputes, MACT, electricity and water bills (except non-compoundable cases), matrimonial disputes, traffic challans, revenue cases and other civil and minor criminal cases were taken up in this Lok Adalat.
The Lok Adalat was presided over by District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Hoshiarpur Dilbag Singh Johal. A total of 27 benches were constituted for the Lok Adalat, which included 11 benches in judicial courts of Hoshiarpur, 4 in sub-division Dasuya, 3 in Mukerian and 2 in Garhshankar. Along with this, 7 benches of revenue courts were also constituted.
A total of 16,172 cases were heard in the Lok Adalat of Hoshiarpur district, out of which 13,757 cases were settled on the spot. Along with this, awards worth Rs 21,02,55,452 were passed by the court. During the Lok Adalat, a special help desk was arranged by the police department for the convenience of the people who came to pay the traffic challan, so that they can easily submit their challan in the courts.
On this occasion, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Hoshiarpur Dilbag Singh Johal along with Rajpal Rwal CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bar Association Hoshiarpur President Ranjit Kumar and Vice President Rajni Nanda also visited the benches of Lok Adalat. Bar Association Hoshiarpur provided important support in successful completion of this Lok Adalat.Secretary District Legal Services Authority had also arranged langar for the general public with the help of Shri Guru Ram Das Langar Seva, which provided convenience to all.CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Rajpal Rwal appealed to the public to take maximum advantage of their cases in Lok Adalats, as it saves time and money. The decisions made in Lok Adalat are final and no appeal can be made against them, which increases harmony and love between the two parties.
