On the directions of DGP Gaurav Yadav IPS, high level drug disposal committee led by DIG Border Range Amritsar Rakesh Kaushal, comprising SSP, SP investigation districts Amritsar Rural, Batala, Gurdaspur and Pathankot recovered 42.312 kg under NDPS Act. The heroin was destroyed. On this occasion, DIG Rakesh Kaushal said that it involves two big cases of 35.810 kg heroin of Batala and Gurdaspur and this substance was destroyed in Khanna Paper Mill of Amritsar. On this occasion, he said that other substances were also disposed of by the district level drug disposal committees. He said that these narcotics were lying in the central warehouses of the districts, which were recovered from drug smugglers and smugglers in various cases. Photography and videography were strictly followed to ensure transparency and accountability in the process of disposal of these medicines.
